Alibag and Kashid Beach
In the hot oppressive weather of Mumbai my heart always dream of going away from this Dream city so this time we planed to go to a near by beach.
Alibag is around 64 Km from Panvel (Navi Mumbai) and takes around one and a half hour if you get normal traffic.
we started our journey around 8 A.M without much planning and used a mobile GPS to show us the route so Google Map was the best help. Google showed Alibag, a little away from actual Alibag location but the locals showed us the way. We heard that Alibag is not that good and was a muddy beach but we found was dissapointing. The beach is not atall a beach. Its small and its dirty. Boulders are dumped to reduce erosion and people are sitting on the rock and enjoying the muddy dirty water.
Not so far away we could see a fort and there were speed boats to take you closer to that fort, i didnt ask whether they allow to land there and see the fort but i can show you how it looks from outside.
Well i didnt took the risk of riding one of their boats as i felt the boats were real overloaded and looks Unstable. Moreover i am afraid of water. So i concentrated on the waves which were splashing against the man made rocky beach.
We were upset and we were hungry so we went to a nearby hotel to have our lunch but i must admit the food was great and i would love to return to that restaurant. So we planned to proceed further to Kashid beach which was supposed to be 30 km away from Alibag. Google map was our saviour. Kashid is actually 93 Km from Panvel (Navi Mumbai ) and the road actually go through Alibag.
Kashid is a beautiful beach. When we reached Kashid it was already 2 P.M but there were enough people to accompany us.
Kashid has conventional sandy beach where you can roam around holding hands of your beloved and the beach is surrounded by hills. So the view is quiet appealing.
So we didnt waste any time and ran towards the water with bare feet although the Journey from our car to the wet sand was quiet challenging as the dry sand was enough heated under the Scorching Sun.
Waves were good and we walked along the beach.
There are options to make your journey more exciting by riding horses.
We walked towars the rocky part of the beach to have a better look and a different thrill.
So what we found is that we are not alone. There are species , other that the Human species, who are also interested in Holiday in a beach.
After we got tired and totally wet we came back to dry land only to find the you have to pay 20 Rs for a bucket of fresh water. We ate bread omlette and watched the people still enjoying.
We left there by 4:30 Pm and while the sunlight was fading away we long to go back home but click some beautiful snap while coming back.
When we came back home it was almost 8 PM and again we were Hungry so Bhabi brought the dinner quickly.
My God it was tasty.......Hope to go a new place very soon.
